Synergy Solutions Colorado, LLC is a growing Colorado-based surveying and engineering firm focused on providing responsive, high-quality professional services to public- and private-sector clients. Our work includes boundary and topographic surveys, right-of-way surveys, transportation and municipal projects, construction staking, utility/SUE support, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and other specialized surveying services.
As a growing company, Synergy Solutions offers an opportunity that is different from joining an established field department. We are looking for individuals who want to take ownership of their work, help establish how the company operates, and play an active role in building a high-performing field survey team.
-
Synergy Solutions is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief who can immediately lead field survey operations while also helping build the systems, standards, and field team needed to support the company's continued growth.
This position is intended for someone who wants more than a traditional Party Chief role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with company leadership to help develop field procedures, establish efficient workflows, implement quality-control standards, evaluate equipment and technology, and mentor future field personnel.
Initially, the Party Chief will perform a combination of independent one-person survey operations and two-person crew assignments. As Synergy Solutions' workload and staff expand, this position has the opportunity to grow into a broader field leadership role with responsibility for training, coordinating, and overseeing multiple field crews.
We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of accurate and defensible survey data, communicates effectively, and is interested in helping build a survey operation from the ground up.
-
Perform and lead a variety of field surveys, including boundary, topographic, right-of-way, control, construction staking, transportation, utility, and existing-condition surveys.
Operate effectively as either a one-person survey crew or Party Chief of a two-person or larger crew, depending on project requirements.
Proficiently operate robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, digital levels, data collectors, and other modern survey equipment.
Plan field activities before mobilization, including review of project scope, control information, record documents, site conditions, equipment requirements, and anticipated field challenges.
Independently make appropriate field and technical decisions while recognizing when issues require coordination with the Project Surveyor or Professional Land Surveyor.
Collect complete, accurate, and well-organized field data suitable for efficient office processing and preparation of final survey deliverables.
Maintain clear field notes, photographs, sketches, point descriptions, coding, control documentation, and other project records.
Perform field calculations, staking calculations, control checks, closures, and other technical surveying tasks as required.
Establish and verify horizontal and vertical control using appropriate surveying procedures.
Develop efficient daily work plans and manage field activities to meet project schedules, budgets, and productivity expectations.
Maintain consistent communication with project managers and office personnel regarding project progress, field conditions, scope issues, safety concerns, and potential additional work. Perform field-to-office data transfer, data review, processing, field note reduction, calculations, and preliminary quality-control checks when required.
Identify discrepancies between field conditions, record information, construction plans, and project documents and communicate those issues before proceeding when appropriate.
Coordinate professionally with clients, engineers, contractors, inspectors, utility personnel, property owners, and other project stakeholders while representing Synergy Solutions in the field.
-
A key component of this position will be helping Synergy Solutions develop its field operations as the company grows. Responsibilities may include:
Assist in developing standardized field procedures, documentation requirements, coding standards, and field-to-office workflows.
Help establish practical QA/QC procedures that improve field data quality and reduce rework.
Assist with developing equipment maintenance, calibration, inventory, and vehicle procedures.
Provide input regarding future survey equipment, software, technology, and field operational needs.
Help develop safety procedures and reinforce a strong field safety culture.
Train and mentor Survey Technicians, Instrument Operators, and future Party Chiefs.
Help establish expectations for field productivity, documentation, professionalism, and accountability.
Participate in evaluating and implementing emerging surveying technologies, including UAS, scanning, mobile mapping, GNSS, and other data-collection platforms.
As workload increases, assist with coordinating field crews, scheduling resources, and maintaining consistency between crews.
Contribute ideas for improving efficiency and help shape how Synergy Solutions' field operations are built and managed.
This position provides an opportunity for the right individual to grow with the company and potentially assume increasing responsibility for field coordination, crew development, and field operations management.
